Lights...Camera...Point Cloud?!?
Working in conjunction with Main Contractor; Knight Harwood; Ibsecad have been appointed to deliver the 3D Co-ordination package at BAFTA Headquarters, 195 Piccadilly, London.
We are currently in the process of producing a 3D Architectural and Structural Model of the Existing and New areas on the Project; with the existing elements being verified via Point Cloud data - which is also being provided and managed by Ibsecad & Supply chain partner PQS Surveys.
The Site strip out has been progressing at pace, allowing our team to capture the data and federate weekly.
Once validated, our MEP Co-ordination team are able to advance the LOD400 Co-ordination in these areas. Normally refurbishment projects would carry an element of "the unknown" but with the advancement in Point Cloud Scanning and Digital Construction methods, we are able to remove the risk prior to any Installation commencing.
Benedetti Architects and Price & Myers Structural Engineers are also back checking their 2D Contract Information via the Point Cloud verified Revit Model, which again is allowing early finalisation of key details on the project.
